Child Drowns in Family Pool

A 2 year-old died after being found unconscious in his family’s backyard pool.

The child was pronounced dead during his third day at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara. He was was airlifted there from Los Robles hospital in Thousand Oaks, where he had been placed on life support.

Thousand Oaks deputies brought the child to Los Robles after receiving a call for emergency medical aid at a home in the 2000 block of Creekwood Street near Newbury Park.

The Los Robles Hospital recently held a press conference reminding pool owners to carefully fence off pools with self-latching gates.
