Local Man Arrested for Rape of a Minor

A Thousand Oaks man has been arrested for allegedly raping a teenager.

Adrianus Timmermans, 32, was charged with seven sexually-related felonies.

Police spokesperson Detective Erik Buschow said Timmermans is originally from the Netherlands and has a work visa to be employed as an engineer in Oxnard.

Authorities initially went to Timmermans’s home on E. Avenida de Los Arboles after the girl’s parents called the department.

Deputies say they found the girl, whose name is being withheld due to minor privacy laws, inside a bedroom. A police report says subsequent interviews determined that Timmerman had been having “repeated sexual contact with the victim for the past two months.”

Police say Timmerman met the victim’s brother at a bookstore and the brother subsequently introduced her to him.

Timmerman was taken to the Ventura Pre-Trial Detention Facility and is being held on $100,000 bail. His arraignment will be tomorrow.
