Newbury Park High School Second Best in County

Newbury Park High School was recently selected as one of America’s best schools.

In it’s annual rankings of the top American public high schools, Newbury Park High School ranked 2nd in Ventura County, 101st in the state, and 635th nationally. This places it within the top five percent of schools in the country.

The Newsweek rankings are based on the number of Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams taken by students at each school, divided by size and graduating class.

AP and IB classes allow high school students to earn college credit by passing an exam at the end of the year.

The two other high schools within the Conejo Valley Unified School District also ranked well. Thousand Oaks High School was 5th in the county, 194th in the state, and 1,153rd in the nation, Westlake Village High School was 1st in the county, 25th in the state, and 236th in the nation. That places all three schools in the top five percent nationally.
